PAUL W. LEWIS, SR., 86, of Little Rock passed away Sunday, Aug. 18, 2013. He was born in Paris, Texas on May 6, 1927 to Charles and Clara (Charbeaneau) Lewis. He was a loving husband, father and grandfather. Paul was a PGA Professional with the City of Little Rock and a member of the Professional Golf Association (PGA). His awards, credentials and achievements in the game of golf can't be held in the palm of your hand. Instead, they are held in the hearts of thousands of people he has influenced with his teachings and hard work as a PGA Golf Professional. He joined the Little Rock Parks and Recreation in 1957 and retired in 1990. He was named Pro at Rebsamen and War Memorial Golf Courses in 1958. He began the Women's and Junior Golf programs at Rebsamen Golf Course in 1958. He taught countless people including his wife, children and grandchildren to love the game of golf. He was inducted into the Arkansas Golf Hall of Fame in 1977 and will always be a treasured man among golfers. He is survived by his loving wife of 55 years, Mary Lewis of Little Rock; son, Paul Lewis, Jr., (Linda) of Maumelle; daughters, Teresa Blake (Rodney) of Little Rock, Virginia Lewis of Sherwood; one brother; one sister, ten grandchildren and ten great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents, son, David Lewis, two brothers, and one sister. Mass of Christian Burial will be 10 a.m., Wednesday, Aug. 21st at Christ the King Catholic Church with Monsignor Francis I. Malone serving as Celebrant. Burial will follow at Pinecrest Memorial Park in Alexander, Ark. Visitation will be held on Tuesday, Aug. 20th at 5 p.m. with Rosary starting at 7 p.m. at the Church.
