Victor James Ferrari

Victor James Ferrari Jr. M.D. of Carlisle died Saturday, August 17, 2013, at St. Vincent's Infirmary. He was born February 27, 1931, in Fort Smith, Arkansas, to Victor J. Ferrari Sr. and Bohen Marie Ferrari. He attended Catholic schools in Fort Smith and graduated from Subiaco Academy. He then attended the University of Arkansas and the UofA Medical School. He practiced radiology for 32 years. He was in the U.S. Air Force from 1960 to 1977. As a flight surgeon, his assignments took him all over the world, including Vietnam many times. He retired as full Colonel. He then joined the Arkansas National Guard where he was deployed in Desert Storm, having his 60th birthday serving in a medical unit in the desert. He was stationed in Al Quesumah, Saudi Arabia, only 11 miles from the Iraq/Kuwait border alongside other Arkansans such as Father Keller of St. Rose Catholic Church. Dr. Ferrari is survived by his wife of 59 years, Audrey S. Ferrari; two sons, Victor J. Ferrari III of Carlisle and John P. Ferrari and wife Ellen of Memphis, Tennessee; three granddaughters, Lindsey Allen of Seattle, Washington and Audrey K. Ferrari and River Ferrari of Conway; and his sister, Dr. Bohen M. Blom of Annapolis, Maryland. He was preceded in death by his parents, Victor James and Bohen Marie Ferrari; his daughter, Roberta A. Allen; his brother, Patrick Ferrari; and his sister, Mary Agnes Keck. Services will be held Friday, August 23, at St. Rose Catholic Church in Carlisle, Arkansas. Visitation will be in the parish hall at 10 a.m. with a Rosary at 10:45 a.m. The funeral service will be at 11 a.m. The family asks that memorials be made to St. Rose Catholic Church, P.O.
