Betty Jean Carman

Betty Jean Carman, 81, of Traskwood, passed away from this life to be with her Heavenly Father on Nov. 30, 2013. She was a retired nurse and active member of Landmark Missionary Baptist Church in Traskwood. Mrs. Carman was known for her generosity, especially to those going through difficult times. She was preceded in death by her parents, Delbert and Mae Shoptaw and a brother, Raymond Shoptaw. She is survived by her husband, Winferd Carman; brother, James Shoptaw; sister, Phyllis Shoptaw; daughter, Jayme Langley all of Traskwood; two sons, Larry Carman of Dallas, Texas and Richard Carman of Benton; four grandchildren; two great-grandchildren and many others that call her Ma Ma Betty. Pallbearers will be Christopher Carman, Lynn Carman, Brian Carman, Randy Smart, Paul Simmons and Brian Prewitt. Visitation will be 6-8 p.m. Monday, Dec. 2 at Ashby Funeral Home.
