Marion Wayne Wilson

Marion D. "Wayne" Wilson of Sheridan, Ark. was born July 30, 1939 at Poyen, Ark., the son of the late Elbert "Tobe" and Birdie C. Murdock Wilson. Mr. Wilson was a member and deacon at Calvary Missionary Baptist Church in Sheridan, and loved to read and study his Bible. He was retired from Lucent Technology, was a lifetime member of Toler Hunting Club, and was an avid outdoorsman, who enjoyed hunting, fishing, and gardening of all kinds. Mr. Wilson died Thursday, Nov. 5, 2013 at Baptist Medical Center in Little Rock at the age of 74. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his brothers, Curtis, Lloyd "Punk", Herbert, Floyd "Bud", Earl and Roy Lee Wilson; sisters, Ila Mae Taylor, Ola Ferguson, Violet Bailey. Survivors include his wife and best friend of over 54 years, Mae Deane Cotton Wilson of Sheridan; daughters and sons-in-law, Brenda and Randy Lott of Sheridan and Denita and Loy Kee of Hazen; two others who Wayne thought of like daughters, Stacy and husband Justin Stockton and Teresa and husband Joe Knight all of Sheridan; grandchildren, Buddy and wife Ali Fowler, Cassandra and husband Michael Sanchez, Cody Wayne Kee, Collin Kee, Carson Kee, Abby Stockton, Kennedy Stockton, Jackson Knight, Nikolle Knight, Kayla and husband Shane Harrington; great grandchildren, Hunter Sanchez, Gracie Sanchez, and Baby "T" Fowler who is on the way in June; step-grandchildren, Randy Joe Lott, Jr., Clayton Lott, Karrie Corter; numerous other family members and friends. Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m., Monday, Dec. 9, 2013 at Calvary Missionary Baptist Church in Sheridan with Bro. Terry Williams, Bro. Dennis Holmes, Bro. John Williams, and Bro. Buddy Fowler officiating. Burial will be in Lost Creek Cemetery. Visitation is Sunday, 2-5 p.m. at Memorial Gardens Funeral Home Chapel in Sheridan. Pallbearers: Floyd Jr. (Hitler) Wilson, J.W. Cotton, Paul Wilson, Charles Wilson, Curtis Talbert, Michael Nelson, Justin Stockton, Ray Sims. Honorary pallbearers: Deacons at Calvary Missionary Baptist Church, Seth King, Drew Robinson, Bob Vocque, Conrad Wilson.
