James Edwin King was born to Lloyd and Alene King on December 3, 1937 in Trenton, Arkansas. Jim "Timber" departed this life to join his Heavenly Father on Friday, December 6, 2013 at Baptist Memorial East in Memphis, Tennessee at the age of 76. Timber was a veteran, having served his country in the United States Marine Corp. After completing his service, he became an insurance salesman. He then returned home and started his sawmill business, which spanned over 40 years. His favorite hobby was enjoying his family and friends. Timber was known for his quick wit and kind and generous heart. He leaves to cherish his memory his wife, Barbara King of Helena, Arkansas; sons, Jimmy King of Helena, Jay King and wife, Jana, of Southaven, Mississippi, Trenton King and wife, Marion, of Memphis, Tennessee; daughters, Leslie Russell and husband, Daniel, of West Helena, Julie Paul and husband, De, of Yazoo City, Mississippi; sisters, Patsy Truemper and husband, Pat, of Rena Lara, Mississippi, Shirley Sherman and husband, Richard, of Donaldsonville, Louisiana; fourteen grandchildren, Timber, Jennifer, J.T., Breanna, Jay, Jr., Greer, Stormie, Addison, Tres, Mills, Jake Louis, Craig, Priest and Kyle; and one great-grandchild, Jacelyn. He is preceded in death by his parents and brothers, Sidney and Earl Wayne. Services for Jim "Timber" King will be held at 11 a.m., Wednesday, December 11, 2013 at Roller-Citizens Funeral Home. Visitation will be Tuesday evening from 5:30-7:30 p.m. at Roller-Citizens. Burial will be at Sunset Memorial Park in West Helena. Reverend Rodger Hooker will officiate. Pallbearers are Michael Truemper, Ken Sherman, Daniel Russell, De Paul, Jay King, Jr., J.T. King and Timber Brocato. Honorary pallbearers are Dr. M.A. McDaniel, Ronald Smith, Clarence Williams, Shed Clemmons, Pat Truemper, Richard Sherman, Billy King, Charles Roscopf, Alan Levine and Officer Charles Byrd. In lieu of flowers, please make donations in memory of Jim "Timber" to the Humane Society of the Delta, P.O. Box 3218, West Helena, Arkansas 72390.
