John Howard Steward

John Howard Steward, 82, of Searcy passed from this life on Wednesday, December 11, 2013. He was born August 31, 1931 in Pangburn, Arkansas. He was the son of Verda and Troy Haile of Searcy and Roland Steward of Blytheville, Arkansas. Mr. Steward was a member of the Episcopal Church, graduated from UCA at 19 years of age, he joined the Air Force and later worked for the federal government retiring as Director of V.A Hospitals. He was preceded in death by his parents and first wife, Dee Burgess Steward. Survivors include his wife, Charlesrea Steward; brother, Larry Haile (Judy) of Searcy; sister, Julie Steward of Tennessee; a nephew Howard Haile (Susan) and sons of Pangburn; niece, Kara Spence (Jeff) and family of Searcy; stepchildren and step-grandchildren; and many other relatives and friends.
