Harold Edgar Morris

Harold Edgar Morris, 85 of Quitman, passed away Wednesday, December 18, 2013, at his home. He was born December 24, 1927 in Quitman to Luther and Minnie Hargett Morris. He served in the Navy during World War II, graduated from Arkansas Teacher's College (now UCA), and was employed with Mobile Oil Corporation for 25 years. He was self motivated and received several degrees with various jobs such as teaching, owning his own business, and going to school for electrical knowledge to rewire his home. He was a member of Salem United Methodist Church. He volunteered and taught hunter's education for 25 years for the Arkansas Game and Fish Commission. The family would like to thank the Cleburne County in home hospice. He is survived by his wife of 62 years, Bernadine Corbell Morris; daughters, Ann Morris of Skokie, Illinois and Carla Hayes of Bull Shoals, Arkansas, son, Richard Morris of Plano, Texas; grandsons, Michael Hayes and wife Rachael, John Hayes and wife Mari; great-grandchildren, Audrey, Moira, Allyson, and Caitlin Hayes; sister, Nina Mae Reneger of Benton; and brother, Gerald Morris of Layton, Utah. Funeral services will be 1 p.m. Sunday, December 22, at Salem United Methodist Church with Rev. Leon gray officiating. Burial will follow at Forest Hills Memorial Park in Alexander.
