Buton Carrol Scott

Buton Carrol Scott, of Kensett, Ark., passed away on Thursday, Dec. 19, 2013. He was born July 30, 1928 in Vinity, Ark. to the late Glenard and Nova McAllister Scott. Mr. Scott was the long-time owner/operator of G.H. Scott and Sons Hardware in Kensett, Ark. He was a member of the First Baptist Church of Kensett and proudly served as School Board Member for the Riverview School District for 40 years. Mr. Scott is survived by his loving wife of 65 years, Patricia, of the home. He is also survived by five grandchildren: Scott Phillips (Carly) and Joshua Phillips both of Searcy, D.J. Stracener, Rachel Stracener and John Daniel Stracener all of Kensett, and one great-grand child, Evelyn Phillips, one brother, Herman Scott of Kensett and a host of other relatives and friends. He was preceded in death by his parents, an infant brother and one daughter, Patti Stracener. In lieu of flowers, the family requests memorials be made to the Buton Scott Scholarship fund in care of Simmons First Bank of Searcy, Ark. or the First Baptist Church of Kensett, Ark. Visitation will be Sunday, Dec. 22, 2013 at the Roller-Daniel Funeral Home Chapel from 2 to 4 p.m. Funeral services will be Monday, Dec. 23, 2013 at 11 a.m. at the Kensett First Baptist Church.
