Ruth Bell Stephens

Ruth Bell Stephens, 90, went to be with the Lord on Dec. 20, 2013. She was born May 16, 1923 in Roosevelt, Ark. Ruth was the daughter of John and Annie Bell. She was a housewife and enjoyed working on her farm in the Pleasant Plains community. She was a member of the Flippo Chapel Missionary Baptist Church. Ruth was preceded in death by her husband of 55 years, Roy "Crick" Stephens. Survivors include one son and two daughters, Wayne and Ruby Stephens of Searcy, Karen and Danny Davis and Shelia and Kenny Staggs of Pleasant Plains, seven grandchildren, Rhonda Woodruff of Searcy, Roy Stephens, Jr., of Little Rock, Tanna Davis and Erin Hays of Pleasant Plains, Andrew Davis of Conway, Ashley Hernandez and Nathan Staggs of Pleasant Plains, six great-grandchildren, Courtney Stewart, Caleigh Woodruff, Camdon Woodruff, Sophia Stephens, Beau Stephens and Tenley Hays. Pallbearers are grandsons and honorary pallbearers are men of Flippo Chapel Missionary Baptist Church. Funeral services will be Sunday, Dec. 22, 2013, at 2 p.m. at Flippo Chapel Missionary Baptist Church. Burial will be in the Roosevelt Cemetery by Roller-Daniel Funeral Home.
