Rosie Floyd, 84 years old, sunrise September 7, 1928, sunset February 2, 2013. Born in Wilmot, Ark. to the late Alzia Smith-Berow and William L. Talton. Preceded in death by Rev. Henry O'Neal Floyd. She attended Philander Smith and Shorter college where her study was in English. She was a substitute teacher for the Little Rock School District and she enjoyed working with children and ownership of a daycare for many years until retirement.She loved the word of God and was ordained to the ministry August 27, 2000, at Walnut Grove Baptist Church, where she continued to serve faithfully until the Lord called her home. While serving on the Mother's Board, she was a great inspirational friend and spiritual counselor to her church and community. She had a strong love for people and the word of God. Survived by nine children, Bishop Eddie Stewart (Queen), Betty Wilson, Elder Larry Burt (Brenda), Sandra Floyd, Kim Armstrong (Johnny), Henry Floyd Jr.(Diana), Angela Galan, Bishop Ray Floyd (Joyce), and Teneice Floyd. Forty four grandchildren and a host of great-grandchildren. Funeral services will be Saturday Feb. 9, 2013, 11 a.m. at St. John Baptist Church 2501 Main St. Little Rock. The family will receive friends Friday, Feb. 8, 2013 from 6 til 7 p.m. at the funeral home. Services entrusted to Premier Funeral Home 1518 S. Battery St., Little Rock, Ark. 72202 (501) 376-4800.
