Eugene Lane

Eugene Lane, age 84, of Lake Village, died Thursday, Feb. 7, 2013, at his home. He was born Sept. 4, 1928, in Dyersburg, Tenn., the son of the Late Arzo Lane and Estelle Massey Lane and was a retired Army Chief Warrant Officer serving in the Korean Conflict and Vietnam War with over 30 years of service. He was a member of Oak Grove Free Will Baptist Church. He was preceded in death by two sons, Donald Lane and Larry Lane, by two brothers, Glen and Richard Lane and by two sisters, Elvie Strawn and Lucille Lunsford. Survivors are his wife, Maysel Lane of Lake Village; a son, Danny Lane and wife, Chong, of Colorado Springs, Colo.; a daughter, Debra Pearson and husband, Bobby, of Monroe, La.; 2 brothers, Al Lane of Millington, Tenn. and Clifford Lane of Lake Village; four grandchildren, 11 great-grandchildren and one great-great-grandson. Visitation is from 2 to 4 p.m. Sunday at Bishop Funeral Home. Funeral services are 2 p.m. Monday, Feb. 11, 2013, at Bishop Funeral Home Chapel with Bro. Phillip Payne officiating. Burial with Military Honors will follow in Holy Innocents Cemetery under the direction of Bishop Funeral Home of Lake Village.
