Merwin H. Triplet, age 80 of Emerson, Ark. passed away Friday, Feb. 8, 2013, in his home with his family by his side. He was born in Emerson on March 13, 1932, to Calvin Roy and Nobie Lee (Stevens) Triplet. Merwin was a lifelong resident of Emerson. It was where he returned to after serving his country in the US Army during the Korean War. It was where he raised his family. After his retirement with Arco Oil and Gas, it was then he returned full time to doing what he truly loved, working the farm. Merwin would fill his days with any number of tasks whether in the vegetable garden, cutting the hay, tending to the cows or riding one of his tractors he was so proud of. Working the farm wasn't a job for Merwin but more a labor of love. And on the 8 day, God looked down on his planned paradise and said "I need a caretaker." So God made a farmer. He was preceded in death by his parents, his first wife and mother of his children, Mary Frances (Gatlin) Triplet, second wife, Sammie (Jones) Triplet, two brothers, Harold Triplet and Don Triplet. Hood, Texas; Chad Cochran of Emerson; Christa Mosley and husband, Jason of Walkerville; Seven great-grandchildren; a host of extended family and friends.
