Charlyne Logan Wells, age 85, of Gurdon, passed away Monday morning, Feb. 11, 2013. She was preceded in death by her husband of 51 years, Raymond Wells, her parents, Rob and Ivy Logan, three brothers, Howard, Bill, and Ned Logan, and three sisters, Mable Toland, Frances Herrington, and Evelyn Norris. Charlyne was a charter member of New Caney Baptist Church near Gurdon and a faithful servant to the Lord her entire life. She was known for being there every time the church doors opened and was usually the first one there.

She was primarily a homemaker, but did spend a number of her later years working for the Pineview Nursing Home in Gurdon. Her job was to clean up after the patients which she did faithfully and without complaint. That was her strength in life - do what you had to do without complaint. She will be missed by all that knew her on earth and welcomed in heaven by all that have gone on before her.

She is survived by three sons, Eddie Wells (Peggy) of Gurdon, Larry Wells of Benton, and Steve Wells (Kim) of Benton, one daughter, Dianne Jones (Dennis) of Gurdon, one sister, Rosemary Smith of Altus, six grandchildren, seven great-grandchildren, and a host of nieces and nephews.

Visitation will be Tuesday February 12, 2013 from 6 p.m. – 8 p.m. In the Chapel of Pharr Funeral Home of Gurdon Service will be Wednesday February 13, 2013 at 2 p.m. New Caney Baptist Church near Gurdon with Bro. Kenny Beaver and Bro. Dennis Jones Officiating. Interment will follow in South Fork Cemetery under the direction of Pharr Funeral Home of Gurdon. The online guestbook is available at
