Gerald Forrest Cole

On February 4, 2013, Rev. Gerald Forrest Cole of Downsville, La. joined his heavenly Father, of whom he had preached for over 50 years. He was born in Huttig, Ark. February 9, 1929 to George F. and Lorine Cole. Bro. Cole pastored churches in Louisiana, Alabama, and Arkansas; First Baptist in Omaha; Midway Baptist near Mt. Home; First Baptist in Evening Shade; and Calvary Baptist in Hughes. He is survived by his wife, Charlotte Ann (Rosie) Cole, and children, Linda Beth Farris (Barry) of Beebe, Gerald Leon (Maudine) and Aaron Forrest both of Downsville, La., Carlos Lane and Parkes Erwin Cole (Elyse) both of Nashville, Tenn., a brother, George Mickey Cole (Carolyn), and sisters, Billy Sunshine Harrison and Elaine Baker (Iro). He is also survived by nine grandchildren and 10 great-grandchildren. Grandchildren in Arkansas are Belinda Ann Davis (Brad) of Rogers and Jacob Barry Farris (Katrina) of Cave City. After a celebration of his life at Bethel Baptist in Downsville, La., he was laid to rest at Harper Springs Cemetery in Huttig, Ark.
