Roberto Velazquez, 73, of Sherwood, Arkansas passed away January 25, 2013 in Tepatitlan, Jalisco surrounded by family. Born in Mexico, Roberto lived most of his life in Tepatitlan before immigrating to the United States with his family. Roberto loved his family and adored his grandchildren. He enjoyed spending time at his ranch in Mexico and at his home in Arkansas. He was retired from the Arkansas Highway Department and a Member of St. Edward Catholic Church. He was preceded in death by his parents, late wife, Evelia Velazquez-Carranza; three brothers, Antonio Velazquez, Salvador Velazquez, and Pepe Velazquez; and one son, Roberto Velazquez. He is survived by his spouse, Ebba Velazquez of Mexico; one daughter, Susan Rosas-Velazquez of Sherwood, Arkansas; eight sons, Martin Velazquez and wife Deisy of Mexico, Manuel Velazquez of Sherwood, Arkansas, Robert Velazquez and wife Amy of Sherwood, Arkansas, Luis Velazquez and wife Estella of Sherwood, Arkansas, Carlos Velazquez of Sherwood, Arkansas, Hobbie Velazquez of North Little Rock, Arkansas, Freddie Velazquez of Austin, Arkansas and Tony Velazquez and wife Amy of Sherwood, Arkansas; 18 grandchildren, five sisters, three brothers and several nieces and nephews. Burial services were held on January 26, 2013 in Tepatitlan, Jalisco. A memorial service will be held honoring Roberto on Saturday, February 16, 2013 at 11 a.m. at St. Anne Catholic Church, 6150 Remount Road North Little Rock, Arkansas.
