DeLena Peterson

DeLena Peterson, 92, of Bauxite, passed away February 13, 2013. She was born April 5, 1920 in the Shaw Community to the late James Albert and Anna Mae Brazil Kentner. Delena attended West Bauxite Missionary Baptist Church. She was preceded in death by her parents, husband of 73 years, John T. Peterson, sisters, Sophie Miller, Emma Whitfield and Imogene Thurston, brothers, James Kentner, John Kentner, Jeff Kentner and Joe Kentner. Survivors, son, James E. Thurston and wife Edith, daughter, Kathy P. Glover and husband, William, sister, Rebecca McCool, grandchildren, Jennifer Glover, John M. Thurston and wife, Joanna, Joanna Strike and husband, Chad, Jessica Paradise and husband, Justin, great-grandchildren, Brielle Glover, Josiah, Isaiah and Cassia Strike, numerous nephews, nieces and friends. Pallbearers will be John Thurston, Chad Strike, Justin Paradise, Clay Kyle, Sean Alexander and Robert Parsons. Church Services by Ashby Funeral Home will be Friday, 2 p.m. at West Bauxite Missionary Baptist Church with Bro. Melvin Burris officiating. Burial will follow at New Friendship Cemetery.
