Franklin Gale Bivins, 78, of Little Rock, went to be with the Lord February 11, 2013. Gale was born on January 26, 1935 in Roland, Arkansas to Ebenezer and Edna Bivins. He worked for 21 years as a diesel mechanic at Roadway Express. Gale enjoyed gardening, wood working and tinkering with cars. His favorite holiday was Christmas and he loved spending time with his children and grandchildren. Gale was a member of Family Church in Bryant. Gale was preceded in death by his parents and one sister; Edna Carolyn Studer. He is survived by his loving wife of 54 years; Marita, three children; Frank Bivins (Paula) of Heber Springs, Ray Bivins (Carol) of Bryant, Karen Strayhorn (Kevin) of Little Rock, seven grandchildren; Jeremy, Matthew, Adam, Amy and Nathan Bivins of Heber Springs and Kendal and Koby Strayhorn of Little Rock. Gale also leaves five siblings; Mary Ann Bixler, Rose Bradley, Don Bivins, Kay Moreland, Frieta Bivins and a host of family and friends. Visitation will be held from 6-8 p.m. Thursday, February 14, 2013 at Griffin Leggett Forest Hills Funeral Home, 10200 Hwy. 5 N., Alexander, Arkansas. Funeral services will be Friday, February 15th, 1 p.m. at Family Church, 21815 Interstate 30 Frontage Rd., Bryant, with burial following at Pinecrest Memorial Park in Alexander. Pastor Perry Black and Pastor Kern Severtson will officiate. In Lieu of flowers the family request that memorials be made in Gales name to Second Chance Ranch, P.O. Box 901, Bryant, Ark. 72089.
