Robert Kenneth Wendell

Robert "Bobby" Kenneth Wendell, 69, of Conway passed away Thursday, Feb. 14, 2013 at his home. He was born Feb. 8, 1944 in Memphis, Tenn., the son of the late Jay B. and Dovie S. Wendell. Bobby was raised in Marion and graduated from Marion High School where he played football and was captain for the baseball team. After serving in the Army, he went to work for McGeorge Contracting. He retired in 2010 after 41 years of service. He enjoyed the outdoors, feeding the birds, gardening, painting, crossword puzzles and playing online games with former co-workers. He was preceded in death by his parents; his sister Patricia Barron; and two brothers, Roger and Kermit Wendell. Bobby is survived by his spouse of 36 years, Susan Hauswirth Wendell; son, Phillip (Sean) Wendell and Wife Bridget of Baton Rouge, Louisiana; daughters, Kris A and husband Jason Eakin of Maumelle and Sarah Wendell and fiancee Casey Rainier of Fayetteville; grandchildren. Lacy, Hayes, Kyle, Hollis and Carter. Visitation will be Monday, Feb. 18, 2013, at 12-1 p.m. at Roller-McNutt Funeral Home of Conway. A service will follow at 1 p.m. in the funeral home chapel.
