Jean Ligon

Jean Ligon, 83, of Benton, Ark., passed away into the arms of the Lord early Saturday, Feb. 16, 2013. She was born June 30, 1929, to the late Allen and Ollie Robertson of Kirby, Ark. She was a homemaker, a member of First Baptist Church-Benton, Deborah Sunday School Class, WMU, Benton Literary Guild and Westwood Garden Club of Little Rock. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by two sisters, Hattie Porter (Mid), Lillian Oliver (Floyd) and one brother, Ira Roberson (Nina De). She is survived by her loving husband and best friend of 66 years, Jim Ligon, her children, Karen "Sissy" Wagnon and husband, Ted of Little Rock, Terri Marshall of Little Rock, Kevin Ligon and wife, Kathryn of Little Rock, Lisa McClain and husband Mark of Memphis, Tennessee and special daughter-in-law, Lynn Ligon of Alma, Ark. She is also survived by her grandchildren Amy McDonnell Wike (Patrick), Misty Summerhill Winfrey (Scott), Carissa Wagnon Godwin (Jason), Jody McDonnell (Cari), Jay Ligon, Ryan Johnson (Rachael), Russell McClain and Grace McClain, 12 great-grandchildren, and many relatives and friends. Visitation is scheduled for Monday, Feb. 18, 2013, from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. at Roller-Ballard Funeral Home (315-4047). Funeral services will be held Tuesday, Feb. 19, 2013 at 1 p.m. at First Baptist Church-Benton with Dr. Rick Grant, Pastor Frances Raley and Pastor Clay Cunningham officiating. Interment will follow at Forest Hills Memorial Park in Alexander. Serving as pallbearers will be Kevin Ligon, Jody McDonnell, Russell McClain, Ryan Johnson, Jay Ligon and Patrick Wike. Honorary pallbearers are the Deborah Sunday School Class. The family wishes to give special thanks to the doctors and nurses at Arkansas Heart Hospital and CCU Heart Unit at Saline Memorial Hospital.
