James A. Ethridge

Mr. James A. Ethridge age 90 of Colt, Arkansas died Sunday, February 17, 2013 at the St. Francis Hospital in Memphis. Mr. Ethridge was born April 15, 1922 in Alabama. He was the son of Jim Ethridge and Trannie Lou NeeSmith. Mr. Ethridge had lived most of his adult life in Colt, was a farmer and had work at Yale Hoist. He was a Veteran of World War II and was a member of the Colt Baptist Church. Mr. Ethridge married Lola Mae Starkey in 1957 and she preceded him in death in 2006. He is survived by four daughters Anita Vandiver of Forrest City, Janey Wright of Maumelle, Janice Cox of Colt and Dianna Simmering of Wynne; three sons Herman Greenwood of Vandale, James Ethridge of Forrest City and Steven A. Ethridge of Oakland, Tennessee; one brother Walter Ethridge of Colt. Seventeen grandchildren and 18 great-grandchildren also survive him. Mr. Ethridge was preceded in death by a daughter Gloria Turner in 2012. Funeral services will be held Wednesday, February 20, 2013 at 11 a.m. at Stevens Funeral Home. Burial will follow at Loughride Cemetery in Colt. Visitation will be from 6 to 8 Tuesday at the funeral home. Visit online registry at stevensfuneralhome.net.
