Kay Max (Mickey) Taylor, 77, of Benton, left this world Saturday February 16, 2013 at Saline Memorial Hospice. He was born December 23, 1935 in Warren, Arkansas to Kyle and Eva Taylor. Mr. Taylor graduated from Warren Public Schools and attended Arkansas A&M (now University of Arkansas-Monticello). He served in the U.S. Army and was honorably discharged in 1964. Mr. Taylor worked at Commercial Credit in Hot Springs for twelve years and spent the next thirty years at Union Bank in Benton where he retired in 2003 as senior Vice President and Compliance Officer. For over forty years, he attended Calvary Baptist Church in Benton where he was an usher, church treasurer, Sunday School Teacher and served on various committees. After retirement, his hobbies included working in his yard, tinkering with automobiles and their machine parts and collecting old tools. As his health and mobility declined, he spent a great deal of time with his family, friends and in prayer. Mr. Taylor is survived by his devoted wife of 48 years, Anita Edmonson Taylor of Benton; daughter, Jennifer Taylor Douglas and spouse Eric Douglas, along with their children Taylor and Jonathan Douglas of Benton; sisters, Bobbie Traywick of Benton and Eloise Owens of North Little Rock; nieces, Joan Taylor Cunningham of El Dorado and Jana Owens of Silver Spring, Maryland and a nephew, Tom Owens of Maumelle. Preceding his death were his parents and a brother, Dale Taylor of Warren. Visitation will be 6 to 8 p.m. Tuesday, February 19 at Ashby Funeral Home. Funeral services will be 10 a.m. Wednesday, February 20 at Ashby Funeral Home with a 2 p.m. graveside service at Oakland Cemetery in Warren. Rev. Ken Barnard will be officiating.
