ALLEN JOSEPH "FRENCHY" THEVENET, 91, passed away February 22, 2013. He was born in Breaux Bridge, La., Sept. 19, 1921, to Joseph Louis and Armance Periou Thevenet. The Thevenets are descendants of Lyon, France. He was a WWII Veteran, Army 35 Division serving under Patton as an interpreter, a retired master electrician, and owner of Thevenet Electric Co. He was preceded in death by his parents, three brothers, Pierre, Louis Roy, and Paul Thevenet, one sister Marie Louise Breaux, and his first wife of 61 years Hilda Rogers Thevenet. He is survived by his wife Reba Mcinturff Thevenet, two daughters, Cherye Riggs, husband Ray, Terri Kaye Thevenet, and his only beloved granddaughter Katherine Risser Rasmussen, husband David, and his great-granddaughter, Zoe Sophia Rasmussen, whom he called his "cajun queen." Step daughter Becky Fletcher, husband Jim of Rogers, Ark., two step-sons Jack Mcinturff, wife Sharon of Bryant and Mark Mcinturff, wife Lisa of Springdale, Ark. Mr. Thevenet is also survived by three nephews, Lee Roy Thevenet, wife Elaine, Richard John Breaux, and Father Louis Allen Breaux of Breaux Bridge, La. Visitation is Monday, Feb. 25 from 6 p.m.-8 p.m. Funeral services will be 2 p.m., Tuesday, Feb. 26, in the chapel of Griffin Leggett Healey & Roth, 5800 W. 12 Street, 501-661-9111. Burial will follow at Roselawn Memorial Park. Mr. Thevenet was a member of the Church of the Nazarene since Dec. 15, 1941. In lieu of flowers the family requests that memorials be made to the Family Life Building First Church of the Nazarene, 1200 N. Mississippi, LR, 72207, or the Disabled American Veterans Fund.
