Charlie "Joe" Strayhorn, 70, of McRae, Ark., was born Nov. 14, 1942, at McRae, Ark. to Ollie and Helen (McAfee) Strayhorn, and he died Friday, Feb. 22, 2013. He was a Baptist and loved to hunt and fish more than anything. Joe is survived by his daughter, Paula Casteen and husband Bland; grandson Joseph Casteen and wife Elizabeth; granddaughter Brittiny Casteen; great-granddaughter Ema Casteen; all of Burkburnett, Texas; his brother, Kenneth Strayhorn and wife Beth; sister Lela Strange; and nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents; his wife, Gloria; and two brothers. The family would like to thank the staff of Hospice Home Care of Searcy for the wonderful care given to Joe. Memorials may be made to Hospice Home Care of Searcy, 106 S. Spring, Searcy, Ark. 72143. Family will receive friends from 6 to 8 p.m. Monday at Westbrook Funeral Home, Beebe. Funeral will be 2 p.m. Tuesday, Feb. 26, 2013, at Westbrook Funeral Home, with burial in Weir Cemetery. Arrangements by Westbrook, a Smith Family Funeral Home.
