Mr. Garner Ray Jones, 79, of Clinton, Ark., passed away Wednesday, Feb. 20, 2013. He was born March 28, 1933, at Rupert Community Clinton, Ark. to the late Dewey and Syble (Montgomery) Jones. He was employed as a truck driver, then a bookeeper until retirement then he farmed for many years. He loved to train and ride horses. During his last two years of school he went to Clinton High and he drove for Dr. Hall on his house calls. He served in the the U. S. Army during the Korean War in the 185th Engineer Battalion as a Combat Construction Specialist during the period of May 31, 1954 to Feb. 26, 1955. He and Geraldine moved to Washington State in 1955 moved to Little Rock, Ark. in 1961 then back to Naches, Washington in 1963 where they lived for many years. He is survived by his loving wife of 59 years Geraldine (Hefner) Jones of the home, two sons, Ray Dean Jones, and Jeffrey Lynn Jones, and one daughter, Judy Kay (Jones) Reeder, four grandchildren, Madison Tebow, Allison Jones, Amber Reeder, and Christopher Reeder, one great-grandchild, Scharlotte Tebow, one brother, Dee Linn Jones, and several family and friends. Pallbearers: Billy Watson, Dwayne Watson, Joe Vaughn, James Pack, Jerry Don Jones, and Rocky Jones. Honorary Pallbearers: David Godfrey, Lloyd Bixler, and Nick Hefner. Visitation will be 5-7 p.m. Monday, Feb. 25, 2013, at Roller-McNutt Funeral Home Chapel Clinton, Ark. Funeral service will be 2 p.m. Tuesday, Feb. 26, 2013, at Pleasant Grove Friendship Church Rupert Community with Pastor Larry Brock officiating. Burial will follow with Military Honors at Pleasant Grove Cemetery. Funeral Arrangements are under the care and direction of Roller-McNutt Funeral Home of Clinton, Arkansas.
