George Clyve "Dede" Buck Jr., age 85, of Nashville, Tenn., passed away February 24, 2013. He was preceded in death by his mother, Mary Elizabeth McDaniel Buck; his father, George Clyve Buck, Sr. and his sister, Mayme Claire Buck Stinnett. He enlisted in the navy during the latter days of World War II. He was present at 'Operation Crossroads', atomic bomb testing at Bikini Atoll after the surrender of Japan. He served aboard the US Navy Hospital Ship Benevolence. For many years, he held the position of President of the Career Wear Division of Washington Manufacturing Company. During his employment at Washington, he and his wife Joy were able to travel extensively and see many of our world's great places. After he left Washington, he was with Reed Manufacturing Company of Franklin, Tenn, before retiring at age 75. His greatest gift was his love for his wife and family. He was always there for whatever advice they were seeking, with his love and knowledge. He is survived by his beloved wife of 65 years, Joy George Buck; brother, William Edward Buck; sons, George Kenny Buck (Ivelisse) and Clyve Shannon Buck (Sandy); his daughter, Marta Buck Hall (Kevin); granddaughters, Carrie Hall Witherow, Tiffany Hall Bridges, Stephanie Buck, Leah Buck, Angelina Joy Buck, Abigail Lopez and Sara Rodriguez; grandsons, Donovan Buck and Brandon Buck; great-grandchildren, Brittany Bridges, Kaylie Bridges, Zach Bridges, Beau Bridges, Chace Witherow, Brice Witherow, Kaci Witherow and Harrison Buck; niece & nephew, Victoria Lynn Stinnett Fortenberry and Mark Stinnett; and his three treasured pets. Visitation followed by service will be held at East End Missionary Baptist Church in Hensley, Ark. on Saturday, March 2nd at 10 a.m. Burial will be in Salem Cemetery.
