Norma Jean Cox Hobbs, age 84, of Malvern passed away Tuesday, February 26, 2013 at her home. She was born on May 19, 1928 in Lono, Arkansas. She was a member of Meadow View Missionary Baptist Church and attended Cooper Assembly of God with her husband, William Hobbs. Jean loved to fish for crappie and camp on Lake DeGray. She was an excellent cook and was best known for her chocolate pies. Jean was preceded in death by her first husband, of 47 years, Choyce Cox; parents, Herbert and Lula Brooks and sister, Marjorie Scott. She is survived by her husband, William Hobbs; sons, Phillip Cox (Lois) of Little Rock and Steve Cox (Jean Ann) of Bryant; six grandchildren; seven great-grandchildren; sister, Irma Patterson of Malvern; stepson, Virgil Hobbs (Irene) of Benton; two stepdaughters, Sue Delavan (Lewis) and Jeanie Hobbs Dailey (Terry) both of Malvern; 10 step- grandchildren; nine step-great-grandchildren and one step-great-great-grandchild. The family wishes to express grateful appreciation to Jean's many caretakers over the last year and a special thanks to Sarah Tims, who not only cared for Jean but also became a trusted friend. Visitation will be Thursday, February 28 from 6-8 p.m. at Regency Funeral Home. Funeral Services will be held Friday, March 1 at 10 a.m. at Regency Funeral Home with Brother Shaun Holland and Brother Mark Ohms officiating. Pallbearers will be her grandsons. Interment will be at Shadowlawn Cemetery. Memorials may be made to Meadow View Missionary Baptist Church, 1760 Hwy 270, Malvern, Ark. 72104 or Arkansas Hospice, 628 Malvern Avenue, Hot Springs, Ark. 71901.
