Larry Eugene Oswalt, age 64, of Hot Springs, passed away Saturday, Dec. 29, 2012 with his loving wife, Felicia and family by his side. Born Oct. 30, 1948 to the late W.E. "Tiny" and Betty Oswalt in Forrest City, Ark.; Larry was the older of two sons. He received his education in the Forrest City, Ark. schools and was known as an especially talented and gifted athlete. At the completion of high school, Larry received a full baseball scholarship to the University of Ole Miss where he graduated with a business degree. Larry always continued to be a devout Ole Miss Rebel fan. He served in the U.S. Army with the 11th Bravo but due to injury he was forced to receive an honorable discharge. Larry was a successful business man and was COO/co-owner (with Felicia) of Environmental Management Services of Arkansas, LLC, a business that Larry and Felicia had built together. Although Larry was an accomplished businessman, nothing meant more to him than spending time with his family and friends. Larry was a loving husband to Felicia and together they raised the prides of Larry's life, three children, Trevor, Mandy and Timmy. Larry was preceded in death by his parents and a brother, Lynn Oswalt. He is survived by his wife, Felicia Oswalt of Hot Springs; son, Trevor Oswalt and wife Andrea of Hot Springs; daughter, Mandy Ferguson and husband Shane of Maumelle; son, Timmy Oswalt and wife Khrista of Hot Springs; three granddaughters, Meaghan, Abigail and Gracie Oswalt of Benton; two grandsons, Cohen and Tate Ferguson of Maumelle; grandsons, Brennon and Andrew and granddaughter, Addison Oswalt of Hot Springs. He is also survived by a sister-in-law, Diane Oswalt, wife of late brother, Lynn and their three children, Chris and wife Kara, Barrett and Katy Oswalt all of West Memphis; father-in-law and mother-in-law, Felix and Marilyn Childress; brother-in-law, Randy Childress and family, Colleen, Meredith and Blake all of Bauxite. Larry's family was the love of his life and he enjoyed spending the summers on the lake riding in his boat surrounded by family and friends. He loved taking walks with his children and grandchildren and attending Ole Miss Football games with his boys. A highlight of his life was watching his grandchildren following in his footsteps playing football, baseball and basketball. Larry's business associates and employees were very important to him and he always looked forward to his visits with them. He will be very definitely greatly missed by all these and hosts of friends, who loved him dearly. Pallbearers will be Chris Oswalt, Barrett Oswalt, Blake Childress, James Jordan, Bruce Wilson, Page Echols, Dusty Echols and Don Zimmerman. Honorary pallbearers will be All EMSOA Employees. Visitation will be 6 to 9 p.m. Wednesday, Jan. 2 at Ashby Funeral Home. Funeral services will be 9:30 a.m. Thursday, Jan. 3 at Central Church of Christ in Little Rock with burial at Mt. Olive Cemetery in Bauxite. Bro. Leon Barnes and Bro. Clyde Chenault will be officiating.
