A memorial service celebrating the life of William E. "Wes" Spikes, 76, of Shreveport, La., will be held on Saturday, January 5, 2013, at 1 p.m. in the chapel at Broadmoor United Methodist Church, with Reverend Conrad Edwards officiating. The family will receive friends in the church parlor following the service. Wes was born September 28, 1936, in Walnut Ridge, Arkansas. He graduated from the University of Arkansas with a B.A. in Business Administration and was a member of Kappa Sigma fraternity. He served his country in the United States Marine Corps and retired after thirty years from the Ideal Cement Company. He is preceded in death by his parents, Mr. & Mrs. William E. Spikes, and sisters Maggie Spikes Waldren and Sylvia Spikes Rainwater. He is survived by his wife of 53 years, Ann Trieschmann Spikes, daughters Sarah Rutland of Memphis, Tennessee and Sylvia Cook and husband Foster Cook of Shreveport, grandchildren Savannah Rutland, Drew Rutland, Dylan Cook, and Reily Cook.
