Robert Wayne Powell

Robert W. "Pop" Powell, age 68, of McRae, died Jan. 4, 2013. He was born Mar. 25, 1944, in Forrest Hill, La. He was the former owner of Searcy Business Systems and Powell Service Company. He was an Army veteran who served in the Vietnam War. Robert was a member of McRae First Baptist Church. He is survived by his wife of 36 years, Doris E. Powell of McRae; two sons, Greg (Debbie) Price of Searcy and Bobby W. Powell of McRae; one daughter, Holly (John) Dickerson of McRae; his mother, Viola Andrus of Pine Prairie, La.; and six grandchildren: Dustin (Rachael) Price, Matt Jordan, McKenzie Holt, Gracie Holt, Jordan Dickerson, and Ava Dickerson. Robert was preceded in death by his father, Willie W. Powell; step-father, Shirley Leggett; two brothers, James Powell and William Powell; and one granddaughter, Emmaly Holt. Visitation will be from 6 until 8 p.m. on Monday, Jan. 7, 2013, at Westbrook Funeral Home in Beebe.
