Grady Guy Magee, age 83, of Springdale, formerly of Pine Bluff, died Monday, January 7, 2013, at the North Hills Lifecare and Rehabilitation Center in Fayetteville. Mr. Magee was born March 14, 1929, in Tyronza, Arkansas, a son of the late Guy D. and Ruby Bowen Magee.

Mr. Magee was reared and educated in Blytheville, graduating from Blytheville High School as President of the Senior Class. He later attended Draughons School of Business in Little Rock.

He was a veteran having served in the United States Navy in the Pacific for four years in the 1950's and in 1960, he moved to Pine Bluff where he was employed as Supervisory Accountant and Budget Analyst in the Comptroller Division of the Pine Bluff Arsenal retiring in 1969.

He was a member of Central Presbyterian Church where he served as Chairman of the Board of Deacons, an Elder of the Session, the governing board of the church, Chairman of the Budget and Finance Committee for several years and various other church committees. He enjoyed photography and traveling both abroad and in the United States.

He was preceded in death by a son, Mark C. Magee of Pine Bluff in 1972 and a step-daughter, Linda Buchanan Douthit of Russellville, in 1987.

Survivors include his wife, Beatrice Horton Magee, whom he married January 3, 1978, in Pine Bluff; son David B. Magee of Little Rock; daughter, Kelly Magee Loveland of Fayetteville, Pennsylvania; three step-sons, Nelson N. Buchanan of Pine Bluff, Frank D. Buchanan of Springdale and Henry H. Buchanan of Austin, Texas; four grandchildren, four great-grandchildren; nine step-grandchildren and nine step-great-grandchildren.

Funeral services will be Thursday, January 10, 2013, at 10:30 a.m. at Central Presbyterian Church by Ralph Robinson & Son with Dr. Dan Festa officiating. Burial will follow in Bellwood Cemetery. The family will receive friends at Robinson's Wednesday evening from 6 p.m.to 8 p.m.
