Mack Castleman Fuqua, 98, of Little Rock, Arkansas passed away peacefully in his home on Saturday, January 5, 2013. He was born October 20, 1914 in Monroe County, Mississippi, and was graduated from Mississippi College in 1936. He continued to pursue his education in chemistry at Louisiana State University and received his master's degree in 1940 and his doctorate in chemistry in 1942. After graduation, he went to work for Standard Oil Company (ExxonMobil) for which he worked until his retirement in 1975. Mack's corporate career took him and his family to Australia, Pakistan, and Okinawa. He was proud of his accomplishments in education and business but especially of his family by whom he will be greatly missed. Mack was preceded in death by his loving wife, Carrie Nell, and his grandson, Matthew Fuqua. He is survived by his two sons, John D. Fuqua, and his wife, Dale, of Crestview, Fla., and David M. Fuqua, and his wife, Debra, of Little Rock, Ark.; by grandchildren, Kevin Fuqua of Prairieview, La., Jeanne Landry and her husband, Troy, of Atlanta, Ga.; Wade Fuqua, and his wife, Emily, of North Little Rock, Ark.; and Lauren Kuhlmann and her husband, Zak, of Benton, Ark.; and by great-grandchildren, Ashlynn Landry, Camren Landry, Jack Fuqua, Ryan Fuqua, Sydney Fuqua, and Noah Fuqua. The family will receive friends at 10 a.m., Saturday, January 12, at Memorial Funeral Home, Columbus, Miss., followed by a graveside service at Friendship Cemetery.
