Vivian DeLong Howie

Vivian DeLong Howie, age 94, of Sherwood, Ark., passed away Monday, January 7, 2013 at Northridge Nursing & Rehab. She was born November 17, 1918 to Fred S. and Hattie Bell Fields Delong in Baskin, La. Mrs. Howie was a member of First Baptist Church of Sherwood. They belonged to the Good Sam's Camping Club prior to her husband's death. She liked to quilt and sew. Vivian was preceded in death by her parents, two brothers, Voyle DeLong and Sherman DeLong; a sister, Mildred Furgerson and her husband, D. W. Howie. Survivors include one son, Fred "Butch" Howie of Oak Harbor, Wash.,; two daughters, Dixie Morgan and Becki Wilson, both of Sherwood, Ark.; one sister, Fredia Bolin of Sherwood, Ark.; five grandchildren, Renee Morgan, Seantele Foreman, Misti Garrison, Kathy Dewitter and Artie Watkins; and eight great-grandchildren. Graveside services will be held at 1 p.m. on Thursday, January 10, 2013 at Crossroads Cemetery with Bro. Ricky Lee officiating under the direction of Jones Funeral Home of Crossett, Ark.
