Mary E. Hearne, 78, of Little Rock died Sunday, December 30, 2012 at Hospice Home Care in Little Rock. She was born August 2, 1934 in Dallas County, Arkansas. She was a retired legal secretary for the Friday Law Firm. Mary viewed the world through the eyes of an artist and was blessed with the ability to transfer her views to canvas. Her art work was widely utilized during the Arkansas Sesquicentennial to reflect depression-era cotton farms in Arkansas. She was later commission by the Old State House to depict downtown Little Rock in its early years. Her paintings hung in the White House during Clinton's administration, and several Arkansas senators and representatives purchased her art work for their Washington offices. She will be especially remembered for her true-to-life sepia farm scenes. Mary was never restrained by what others thought. She was feisty and full of fun She will be greatly missed by those who were blessed to have known her.

She is preceded in death by her parents, Henry Evans Hearne and Olive Abbott Hearne; brothers, Wilson Hearne and Fred Hearne; sisters, Mabel Hearne and Josephine Davis. She is survived by three nieces and three nephews.

Memorial services will be 11 a.m. Saturday, January 12, 2013 at Benton Funeral Home in Fordyce with burial following at Macedonia Cemetery. In lieu of flowers memorials may be made to the Arkansas Humane Society. Arrangements by Benton Funeral Home in Fordyce. To sign the online register visit www.bentonfuneralhome.net.
