Jeannette Norris Baggett

Jeannette Norris Baggett, 83, of Searcy, died Wednesday, January 9 at her home in Searcy. She was born May 9, 1929 in Plain Dealing, Louisiana, the daughter of Roscoe and Ruth Norris. Jeannette was a charter member of the West Side Church of Christ, where she taught 6th grade children and later the ladies Bible class. She is a 1950 graduate of Harding College where she was a member of the Alpha Honors Society. She was a past sponsor of the GATA girls social club. Jeannette worked as the office manager of the Medical Arts Clinic, which merged in 1973 with the Searcy Medical Clinic to become the Searcy Medical Center. She is survived by her husband, Dr. George Baggett; a daughter, Rosemary B. Wilson of Olathe Kansas; a son, Robert N. Baggett of Sulphur, Louisiana; grandchildren, Matt (A.J.) Wilson, Michael (Jamie) Wilson, Doug (Kristin) Baggett, Kelly (Chad) Petross and Christy (Caleb) Heddins; great grandchildren, Adam, Drew, Titus, Samantha, Jack and Luke Wilson, Cameron Baggett, Andie and Taylor Petros, and Colin Heddins; and a nephew, Ricky Norris. She is preceded in death by her parents and a brother, James Earl Norris. In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made to either West Side Church of Christ, or the Baggett Memorial Music Scholarship fund at Harding University. Visitation for family and friends will be Saturday morning at 10 a.m. at the West Side Church of Christ Chapel. A memorial service will be at the church at 2 p.m. Saturday.
