Garfield W. Hancock

Garfield W. Hancock, age 80, passed away Jan. 6, 2013. Garfield was born in Glenwood, Ark. on April 5, 1932, to John and Nellie Hancock. He was raised in Amity, Ark. He was in the Army from 1952 to 1955. After leaving the military, he lived in Kansas City, Mo., where he was a roofer. He then resided in Stuttgart, Brinkley, and later took his home in Hot Springs, Ark. The last years of his life were spent at Heritage Manor in Hot Springs where hospice cared for him the last few months of his life. Garfield's faith was in Jesus Christ and he had come to know the Lord. He was preceded in death by his parents, John and Nellie Hancock; his wife, Mae Hancock; his brother, Garland Hancock; and one great niece, Jennifer Hancock. He is survived by his caretakers, (niece) Pam Clark and husband, Kevin Clark, of Hot Springs; three sons, Tommy, John, and Charles; three nephews, Thomas Hancock and wife, Misty, Lloyd (Doug) Miller, and Larry (Guy) Miller and wife, Gail. A private Military Memorial will be held at the home of Kevin and Pam Clark, where Mr. Hancock will find his final resting place on Monday, Jan. 14, 2013, at 11 a.m. To sign his guestbook, please visit www.arkansasfuneralcare.com.
