JAMES K. HICKS SR., age 63, of Little Rock, transitioned to his heavenly home on Saturday, Jan. 5, 2013. He was born on Sept. 22, 1949, to Robert and Irene Hicks. Having accepted Christ at an early age, James became a member of New Providence Baptist Church. As he traveled through life and attended many churches, he retained his membership with his home church until his death. James graduated from Norphlet High School with the class of 1967. He continued his education at the University of Arkansas, Fayetteville and UAMS in Little Rock. He was united in holy matrimony to Jennifer Jones in 1969 and to this union three children were born. James lived a full life not only through his trucking business; but, also as an avid hunter and fisherman. He loved helping and sharing his knowledge with all who crossed his path. He was a loving husband, father and grandfather. Predeceased by his parents, two brothers and one granddaughter; James leaves to cherish his loving memory, his devoted wife, Jennifer; two daughters, Dr. Carla Tabbs (Aron) of Keller, Texas, Carol Williams (John) of Plano, Texas; two sons, James Hicks, Jr. (Marina) of Little Rock and Stacy Richmond (Barbara) of De Soto, Texas; eight grandchildren, Alexa, Lawrence, Johnathan, Lauren, Breana, Kennedy, Jadyn and Simone; two sisters, Marilyn Hill (James) of Tulsa, Okla. and Patricia Borders (Howard) of Gary, Ind.; four brothers-in-law, Robert Jones (Charmaine), Obray Nunnley (Cynthia), James Nunnley (Denise) all of Little Rock, Jerry Jones of Ft. Worth, Texas and one sister-in-law, Tina Green of Arlington, Texas; one daughter in Christ, Schundra Johnson of Little Rock, one uncle, two aunts and a host of nieces, nephews and friends. Family hour will be 3 p.m. Sunday, Jan. 13 at Andrews Funeral Home. Funeral will be at 11 a.m. Monday, Jan. 14, 2013, at New Providence Baptist Church. Services entrusted to Andrews Funeral Home.
