After 19 years of being separated by death, Eula Mae Lewis was once again able to take the right hand of her beloved husband of 61 years, Gene, as she joined him in heaven on Sunday, January 13, 2013. Eula Mae, 93, of Little Rock, was born May 15, 1919 in Grubbs, Arkansas. Eula Mae has been a lifetime member of the First Church of God in Little Rock. She faithfully served her Lord, Jesus Christ, in action, deed and voice to the fullest extent of her being. As the matriarch of the Lewis family, she showed through example, how to be a Christian through her personal life. By that example, she shared her faith in Christ to her children, grandchildren and all others that were blessed with knowing her. Her favorite pastime was cheering on her children and grandchildren in any sport they were involved in, from softball, football and basketball to rodeo and horseshows. She always made herself the number one fan at all of their sporting events and could be found, rain or shine, sitting in her lawn chair or in the bleachers, cheering loudly. When there wasn't a loved one's game to attend you could find her glued to her radio or television set cheering her Razorbacks on. She is preceded in death by her husband, Leslie Eugene Lewis; her parents, Thomas 'Doc' Ahart and Nola McKee Ahart of Newport; three brothers, Silva Ahart of Little Rock; J.T. Ahart of Alexander; Therrell Ahart of Newport; and one sister, Othella Turner, also of Newport. She is survived by two sisters, Esther Maness of Newport and Ruthie Wagster of Bryant; and one brother, Byrum Ahart of Cabot. She is also survived by her four children; one daughter, Burnice Hamilton of Alexander, and three sons, Paul Lewis, Tommy Lewis and Phil Lewis, all of Little Rock. 'Meme,' as she was known to her family, is also survived by nine grandchildren; numerous great-grandchildren and great-great-grandchildren. Funeral services will be held at the Roller-Drummond Funeral Home, 10900 Interstate 30, Little Rock, Arkansas 72209 (501) 455-5800 on Wednesday, January 16, 2013. Visitation will be at 1:00 p.m. that afternoon with the funeral services following promptly at 2 p.m. She will then be laid to rest beside her beloved Gene at Pinecrest Memorial Park in Alexander.
