Hyman Morris Jackson

Hyman Morris Jackson, 89, of Bryant, died Sunday, January 13, 2013. He was born December 8, 1923 in Humphrey, son of Luther Gray and Ethel Bain Jackson. Mr. Jackson was reared and received his early education in Hardin, graduating from Hardin High School. He proudly served in the United States Marine Corps, stationed in the South Pacific, during World War II. After the war, Mr. Jackson moved to Dearborn, Michigan, where he began his career with American Airlines in 1952. Hyman worked in San Francisco, California and for the flight academy in Dallas, Texas before retiring in 1980. He moved to Pine Bluff in 1981. Mr. Jackson was preceded in death by his wife, Evelyn Grady Jackson, whom he married February 9, 1946 in Pine Bluff; his parents; and brother, Merton Jackson. Survivors include his son, Phillip Jackson of Redondo Beach, California; daughter, Karyn Jackson and her husband, Scott Richardson, of Bryant; sister, Sadie Davis of Oklahoma City, Oklahoma; brother, Waverly Jackson of Hensley; two grandsons, Jeffrey Jackson and David Snyder; and many nieces, Nephews and friends. A graveside service will be 1:30 p.m., Wednesday, January 16, 2013 at Hardin Cemetery with Pastor Robert Davis, Jr. officiating. Visitation will be Wednesday afternoon from 12:30 p.m. until service time at Hardin Cemetery. Memorials may be made to the Hardin Cemetery Association, 10000 Highway 270, White Hall, Arkansas 71602.
