Charles Hubert Heath, aged 84, passed away Sunday, January 13, 2013, surrounded by his loving family and friends. He was born May 25, 1928 to Claude Heath and Anna Belcher in Benton, Ark. He was preceded in death by his parents, wife Lillian Heath and son James Heath. He is survived by loving wife Kay Heath, daughter Denise Barnhouse and granddaughter Leigh Ann Webb as well as a host of other relatives. Charles, known as Chuck to his loved ones, was a World War II veteran who served in Occupied Japan. He retired from Strickland as a diesel mechanic. After his retirement from Strickland, Chuck also served as a school bus driver for Pulaski County Special School District for several years. He was active in Teamsters and was a Master Mason and past Master of Oak Grove Lodge #764. Chuck also spent many years as a volunteer firefighter with the Oak Grove Volunteer Fire Department. He was a proud member of the Oak Grove community for over 50 years. Chuck was happiest spending time with his family and friends. He enjoyed his work and was proud of his service and affiliations. In lieu of flowers, the family asks that donations be made to the Oak Grove Volunteer Fire Department Fireman's Fund. Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. Thursday, January 17th, 2013 in the chapel of Griffin Leggett-Rest Hills Funeral Home, 7724 Landers Road, North Little Rock (501)835-3515.
