Lucille Grayson, 85, of Carlisle, affectionately know as Big Mama, died Monday. She is preceded in death by her parents, Herbert Jackson, Pauline Polk; brothers, H.B., C.J. and Eddie Jackson; two sons, Nathaniel Jarrett, Michael Covin; three daughters, Marjorie Grayson, Virginia Covin and Sandra Grayson preceded her in death. Big Mama joined Mt. Canaan Baptist Church at an early age and later moved her membership to Mt. Zion Missionary Baptist Church currently under leadership of Rev. Nelson Watson. She was an active member of the church and loved cooking and serving the Lord. She retired from Remington Arms after being a dedicated employee for 22 years. Big Mama has a great love for gardening and caring for her many dogs. Mrs. Lucille Grayson was indeed a friendly person that is survived by one daughter, Felisa Thomas of Carlisle; three sons, Jackie Young of North Little Rock, James (Barbra) Thomas of Carlisle and Ronnie Grayson of Little Rock. Funeral 11 a.m., Saturday, Mt. Zion Missionary Baptist Church, Carlisle. Family hour 6-7 p.m. Friday at Watson-Northcrest, 1801 Maple. Interment: Carlisle Cemetery, 812-5303.
