She was raised in Hillcrest the most of her life with her two sisters and brother. She attended Our Lady of the Holy Souls Catholic School until Grade 8 and then moved on to Mount St. Mary's at high school until graduation. She then worked for her father's and brother-in-law's (Lonnie Patterson) office supply company in Downtown Little Rock with great success. In 1988, Terry married her spouse Robert Dean "Woody" Wood and had two children, Amanda Jo Wood (22) and Kyle Robert Wood (17). By the time she settled in with her family she had landed a job at Alltel Wireless, with help with one of her high school friends. In 2004, Terry suffered progressing pain complications, which caused her to be unable to work. Terry was a very strong follower of the Catholic Christian faith, though not have been physically able to attend mass, enjoyed praying with her children and took life advice from God. In her better health, her charitable actions included donating money to the Humane Society of the United States whenever she could and aiding her children with The Rice Bowl collections in grade school. Terry was a strong, kindhearted woman who was in a lot of pain.
