Mary Therese "Terry" Peyer-Wood, 49, passed away at her West Little Rock house on 14 January 2013. Terry was born in Little Rock, Arkansas on 13 September 1963 as the child of Joseph Morand Peyer (deceased) and Mary Therese Elkins-Peyer (deceased).

She was raised in Hillcrest the most of her life with her two sisters and brother. She attended Our Lady of the Holy Souls Catholic School until Grade 8 and then moved on to Mount St. Mary's at high school until graduation. She then worked for her father's and brother-in-law's (Lonnie Patterson) office supply company in Downtown Little Rock with great success. In 1988, Terry married her spouse Robert Dean "Woody" Wood and had two children, Amanda Jo Wood (22) and Kyle Robert Wood (17). By the time she settled in with her family she had landed a job at Alltel Wireless, with help with one of her high school friends. In 2004, Terry suffered progressing pain complications, which caused her to be unable to work. Terry was a very strong follower of the Catholic Christian faith, though not have been physically able to attend mass, enjoyed praying with her children and took life advice from God. In her better health, her charitable actions included donating money to the Humane Society of the United States whenever she could and aiding her children with The Rice Bowl collections in grade school. Terry was a strong, kindhearted woman who was in a lot of pain.

The survivors in Terry's family include her two sisters, Jean Ann Patterson (Brentwood, Tenn.) and Cathy Katilius (Carterville, Ill.), minister, author, and singer, who helped Terry in her hour of need, and her brother J.R. Peyer (Maumelle, Ark.); her nieces and nephews, Joey Patterson, Charlie Patterson, John Patterson, Danny Katilius, Chris Katilius, Joseph Peyer and Mary Beth Peyer; her spouse Robert Wood and their daughter Amanda, their son Kyle, and step-son Bobby.

Mass of Christian Burial will be Saturday, January 19, at 10 a.m. at Our Lady of the Holy Souls Catholic Church, Father Phillip Reaves as Celebrant. Interment will follow at 2 p.m. at Forest Hills Memorial Park in Alexander. A gathering of remembrance will be Friday, January 18, at 6 p.m. at Griffin Leggett Healey & Roth, 5800 West 12th Street, Little Rock, 501-661-9111. Online guestbook is available at

I knew Terry from 1999-2002 and just found out about her death. This was a warm and wonderful women who did not deserve the hand she was dealt in life. My condolences to Kyle and Amanda.
