John Watson Gardner, of North Little Rock, passed away Thursday, Dec. 20, 2012 at Hospice Home Care on Bowman Road in Little Rock, Ark. He was born Oct. 20, 1942 in Star City, Arkansas to the late Dr. Buford Milton Gardner Sr. and Mrs. Mabel Virginia Gardner.

He is preceded in death by his brothers Edward Lane, Robert K and Buford Milton Jr., His loving first wife Ann "Rita" Gardner and his second spouse Kimberly Current-Gardner. Survivors include his two sons "Kevin" John Gardner and his wife Teresa Gabbert-Gardner of Fayetteville, Robert "Kirk" Gardner of Jacksonville, Ark., two grandsons, "Jared" Christopher Gardner of Rogers, Ark. and "John" Christian Gardner of Owasso, Okla. John is also survived by his sister, Karen Gardner of Lawton, Okla. and two brothers, David C. Gardner Sr. of Lynchburg, Virginia and Joe W. Gardner of Benton, Ark., his Aunt Hattie K. Ferguson of North Little Rock, Ark., many other uncles, nieces, nephews and in-laws to mention. John was known for always putting others before himself.

John graduated from Poplar Bluff Missouri High School and the University of Arkansas-Fayetteville. He was a CPA and owner of the accounting firm John W. Gardner CPA. He was Chief Financial Officer with several different major firms throughout his career in places like Tulsa, Okla, Oklahoma City, Okla., Ft. Smith, Little Rock and North Little Rock, Arkansas before settling and establishing his private accounting service in North Little Rock, Ark.

John requested immediate cremation with a private service to be conducted at a later date with immediate family. He asked in lieu of flowers that donations be made to Hospice Home Care, 2200 S. Bowman Rd., Little Rock, Ark. 72211.
