Aubrey D. Tapley

Aubrey D. Tapley, age 80, of Mena, Arkansas, passed away Wednesday, January 16, 2013 in Little Rock. He was born April 19, 1932 in Arkadelphia, Arkansas, to the late Joe Earl Tapley and the late Edna Glover Tapley. He was united in marriage to Medina Middleton. He was a Post Master for many years, a Wal-Mart associate after retiring, and was a member of the Dallas Avenue Baptist Church. He served his country proudly in the United States Army during the Korean Conflict. "Coach" Tapley was also an active member in the Mena Optimist Club, the Boys and Girls Clubs of North Little Rock and also the American Legion. He was a loving husband, father, grandfather, great-grandfather, uncle, brother, and friend, and will not soon be forgotten in the eyes of his family or his community. He is survived by: wife: Medina Tapley of Mena, Arkansas; sons: Bill Tapley and wife Doreen of Mena, Arkansas, Jerry Tapley of Ashdown, Arkansas, Mark Tapley of Jacksonville, Florida; daughters: Stephanie Tapley of Mena, Arkansas, Audria Daniels of Waldron, Arkansas; sister: Wilma Green of Sherwood, Arkansas; 12 grandchildren: Ashley, Sarah, Heather, Cameron, Josh, Gabryelle, Marissa, Jonah, Brenden, Dakota, Kyle and Jon; seven great-grandchildren and a host of nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents, Joe and Edna Tapley. Memorial services will be held Monday, January 21, 2013 at 2 p.m. at Dallas Avenue Baptist Church. Arrangements are under the direction of the Beasley-Wood Funeral Home. Honorary pallbearers are the Danco American Legion Team of North Little Rock.
