Mary (Matheny) Nuss, born April 20, 1923 in Cord, Arkansas, passed away January 8, 2013 in Papillion, Nebraska. Mary lived most of her life in Arkansas. She was a dedicated government employee serving in several county offices at the Pulaski County Courthouse in Little Rock and retiring from the Office of the County School Supervisor. She had a zest for life and adventure as shown when she traveled to Washington, D.C., during World War II and worked as a teletype operator for the State Department at the Pentagon. Years later she traveled to Vietnam during the War and again worked for the State Department. Mary loved her family. She was one of 10 children born to Orville and Maude Matheny. Predeceasing Mary were three sisters; Madge DeVice, Monarie Eagle, and Faye Latta, as well as three brothers; Bartus, Darrell and Loyd Matheny. Surviving Mary are three sisters; Maurine Taylor of Perryville, Arkansas, JoAnn Riggs of Greenwood, Arkansas, and Carolyn Kenney of Searcy, Arkansas. Mary lived the last few years of her life in Papillion, Nebraska, with her son and his family. She is survived by her son Stanley and his wife Pamela, her grandson Benjamin Nuss, and four great-grandchildren, Courtney, Cameron, Benjamin Jr. and Dustin.
