LORA MAE GEORGE, 96, Little Rock died Friday, Jan. 18, 2013 in Little Rock. The daughter of Samuel E. McCleskey and Mollie Ellen Herring, she was born Jan. 31, 1916, in Belleville. She was a homemaker and a member of the Bethlehem Missionary Baptist Church in Birta. She enjoyed playing the piano, quilting and gardening. She was preceded in death by her husband, Hayden George; her parents; four sisters, Ernestine Sugg, Lois Allen, Hermoyne Suggs, Leona Heffington; two brothers, Wayne McCleskey and Lawton McCleskey. Survivors include three children, Pam George of North Little Rock, Jacky George (Jannette) of El Reno, Okla.; Frankie George of Birta; five grandchildren, Janan Fletcher (Mike), El Reno, Okla., Anita Moss (Mike), Duncan, Okla., Steve George, Ola, Melissa George, Ola, Jennifer George, Birta; nine great grandchildren; eight great-great grandchildren; sister, Elwanda Williams, Little Rock; two special nieces, Nell Spears and Phyllis Dickey; numerous other nieces, nephews and cousins. Funeral will be at 2 p.m., Monday, Jan. 21, 2013, at the Bethlehem Missionary Baptist Church in Birta. Pastor Ricky Kimzey will officiate. Visitation will be one hour prior to the service at the church. A special thank you to the staff of Pleasant Valley Nursing and Rehabilitation Center in Little Rock for their compassionate care.
