Lorene (Evatt) Shaw

Lorene (Evatt) Shaw of Vilonia, Ark., went to be with our Lord on Friday, Jan. 18, 2013, after 88 years on earth. She was born on June 16, 1924, in Vilonia, Ark., to the late Elijah Evatt and Lucy Barker Evatt. She was preceded in death by her husband, George Shaw and her two sons, George Jr. and Elijah Shaw. She was a lifelong member of Vilonia Church of the Nazarene. She retired from Conway Human Development Center where she gave 22 years of service (April 1965-June 30, 1987). She is survived by one son Ed Shaw of Conway, Ark.; and three daughters, Martha Bee Roberts and Bob of Greenbrier, Elizabeth Spears of Conway, and Bulah Stock and Kirk of Vilonia. She also leaves behind 15 grandchildre: Robin Roberts and Leah, Pam Cardin and Gary, Diane McGinty and Randy, Dana Hargrove, Jason Spears and Lindsey all of Greenbrier. Alan Roberts and Rhonda of Guy, Jeremy Spears and Shawn of Corpus Christi, Texas, Erika Stock Bradshaw of Enola, Kolby Stock and April of Redfield, Kan., Nathan Shaw and Lora, Heather Conway & Nick, Dustin Shaw, Justin Shaw all of Vilonia and Melissa Cannon and Elisha Shaw of Bee Branch, 32 great-grand children, and five great-great-grandchildren. She added her own color to the world and Vilonia with her gardening skills and flower gardens along with her handmade quilts. A special thank you to Shirley Gill, her friend and caregiver who was with her until the very end, we are forever indebted to you for your love and care of Granny Shaw. To the nurses, Dr's, and staff of the 4 floor north at Conway Regional Medical Center we are forever grateful for your care and compassion. You treated our mother and granny as if she were your own family. In lieu of flowers the family requests memorials be made to Odyssey Hospice so they may continue to support families in the wonderful way they supported ours. Funeral services will be held Monday, Jan. 21, 2013 at 1 p.m. at Roller-Mcnutt Funeral Home followed by burial at Vilonia Cemetery, Vilonia, Ark. Visitation will be at Roller-Mcnutt Funeral Home Sunday, Jan. 20, 2013, 6-8 p.m. with Jeremy Spears, Jason Spears and James Smith officiating.
