Elizabeth Sherret

Elizabeth Sherret, a resident of Fayetteville, Ark., was born May 7, 1924, in La Grange, Ill., a daughter of Charles and Harriet (Eller) McLane. She passed away, Friday, Jan. 18, 2013, in Fayetteville, at the age of 88 years. Elizabeth was a member of the St. James Episcopal Church in Eureka Springs, Ark. She was also a member of the P.E.O., and enjoyed reading, sewing and listening to music. She loved her children and enjoyed every moment with them. Elizabeth volunteered for the Carnegie Library in Eureka Springs and for the Red Cross while her husband served in the United States Air Force. On Dec. 22, 1945, Elizabeth was united in marriage with William G. Sherret on the Rapid City Air Base in South Dakota. She is survived by her husband, William of the home; two daughters, Carol House of Fayetteville, Ark. and Gail Susan and husband Phil Cavendor of Longmont, Colo.; one brother, John McLane of Adams, Wis.; three grandchildren, Evan House and wife Morgan and Jessica House all of Fayetteville, Ark. and Andrew N. Cavendor of Arvada, Colo.; several nieces, nephews and a host of other relatives and friends. Elizabeth was preceded in death by her parents, Charles and Harriet McLane; one brother; two half-brothers; and one half-sister. There will be no visitation. Graveside service will be 2 p.m. Wednesday, Jan. 23, 2013, at the Hillspeak Cemetery with Reverend John Burton officiating. Interment will follow in the Hillspeak Cemetery under the direction of Nelson Funeral Service.
