Marian Ridley Ford

Marian Ridley Ford, age 81, of Pine Bluff, (formerly of Crossett) died Saturday, Jan. 19, 2013, at Trinity Village Medical Center. Mrs. Ford was born Aug. 30, 1931, in Muncie, Kan., a daughter of the late Gratie J. and Hallie Moore Ridley. Mrs. Ford Was reared and educated in Tulsa, Okla., graduating from Will Rogers High School. She moved to Pine Bluff in 1953 with her husband and lived here until 1976, at which time they moved to Crossett and back to Pine Bluff in 2009. She was a longtime volunteer for the Ashley County Hospital Auxiliary and also volunteered as an artist for the Crossett Playhouse. She loved needle work and crafts. Most of all, she loved her family. Her children and grandchildren were most important. She was a member of Immanuel Baptist Church and a housewife. Mrs. Ford was preceded in death by a brother, David Ridley. She is survived by her husband, William Marion Ford, whom she married June 16, 1950; two daughters, Susan Ford Ferguson (David) of Little Rock, Carol Ford Jones (Met) of Pine Bluff; son, William Marion Ford II (Tonya) of Tulsa, Okla.; two sisters, Rosemary Ridley, Raedelle Ridley Plummer and one brother, Oran Lee Ridley, all of Tulsa, Okla.; seven grandchildren, James Ferguson (Jessica), John Ferguson, Erica Jones Baker (Colin), Sarah Jones Smart (Roger), Met Leonard Jones III (Rachel), Jason Ford (Angie), Dexter Ford and four great-grandchildren. Funeral service will be Tuesday, Jan. 22, 2013, at 10 a.m. in the Chapel of Ralph Robinson & Son with Reverend Pam Estes officiating. Burial will follow in Graceland Cemetery. The family will receive friends at the home, 2 Hillcroft, Pine Bluff, Ark.
