Russell Disston Rawn, age 92, passed from this life to the next on January 24, 2013 in Little Rock AR. Born on Nov. 20, 1920 in Philadelphia, Pa., the son of Joseph and Snefrid Gudbrandsen Raaen, Russ is survived by his wife of 68 years, Betty Ann Peterson Rawn. He worked as a CPA and CFO of Transportation Properties, Inc. and International Ventures, Inc. He volunteered his time and talents with organizations for which he cared: The Episcopal Diocese of Arkansas as Treasurer, Easter Seals of Arkansas as a Member of the Board of Trustees, and the Founders Lions Club. Russ and Betty Ann were founding members of St. Michaels Episcopal Church in Little Rock. Russ served in the Army Air Corps as a Navigator Trainer during WWII and the Korean Conflict. He is also survived by four sons and their wives, Doug and Lynda Daily Rawn of Little Rock, and Robert and Debbie Wools Rawn of Maumelle, Greg and Barbara Hinson Rawn of DeValls Bluff, and the Rev. Jeff and Cinde Matkin Rawn of Plano, Texas. Russ and Betty Anne boast 11 grandchildren and five great-grandchildren. Russ was a member of Saint Andrew's Anglican Church in Little Rock. It was recently said that Russ lived a good, long life and served the Lord quietly. He never talked a lot about his faith, choosing rather to demonstrate it with his life, which he did. A Memorial Service will be held at St Andrew's Church, 8300 Kanis Rd., Little Rock, Ark. 72204 at 1:30 p.m. on Saturday, January 26. Private interment will be at St Michael's Episcopal Church.
