Steven Todd Laing, 49, of Little Rock died Thursday, January 24, 2013. He was born August 23, 1963 in Shreveport, Louisiana to Nelson (Buddy) Laing and Sybil Todd Laing. Todd lived all of his life in Little Rock. He graduated from Catholic High School in 1981. He attended the University of Arkansas and UALR where he was a member of Sigma Phi Epsilon Fraternity. Todd never met a stranger. He had a giving and loving heart and a deep passion for his God, his family, and his friends. He had a special enthusiasm for life that was contagious. Todd's trademark was his million dollar smile. Todd's sons, Justin and Christopher, were the greatest joy in his life. He was there for every practice and game. He cheered for them with great enthusiasm. Todd leaves them a legacy of faith and zeal for every endeavor in life. Todd had an outgoing personality that led him to a career in sales. He started his own company, Laing Financial Corporation, in 1994. He received numerous awards and honors in the insurance industry. In 1995, Todd felt the call to expand his Christian commitment by attending missionary school at Agape School of World Evangelism. He used that training to lead the church's singles ministry. He was a talented counselor and loved sharing his faith and life experiences. Todd was preceded in death by his grandparents, W.J. and Lois Todd and Nelson Laing Sr. Todd is survived by his parents, wife, Charlotte Shroat Laing, sons, Justin Todd Laing and Christopher Chase Laing, brother, Greg Laing and wife Karen, sister, Laurie Laing, nephew Nelson Laing, grandmother, Elizabeth Laing, aunt and uncle, Barbara and Tommy Landfair, aunt, Mary Jo Pilcher, cousins Carolyn Harrison, Mark Landfair, Michael, Mark, Doug, Larry, Ronnie Pilcher. Visitation will be held from 6-8 p.m., Thursday, January 31, 2013 at Roller Chenal Funeral Home, 13801 Chenal Parkway, Little Rock. (501) 224-8300. The memorial service will be held at the Agape Church on Nappa Valley Road at 3 p.m., Friday, February 1, 2013. Rev. Happy Caldwell will officiate the service.
